Hydraulic is the discipline where coordination most often falls down, because it is gravity-bound. Sanitary drainage cannot be re-routed around a clash the way a duct or a cable tray can — it has to fall, in a set direction, through a structure that was designed by someone else. We set the drainage geometry against the structural model early and hold penetration positions through documentation, which is why our hydraulic packages generate fewer site variations than they otherwise would.

Falls before layouts
We set the sanitary drainage geometry against the structural model before the hydraulic layout is drawn. It is the single decision that determines whether a hydraulic package coordinates or fights, and it cannot be recovered later without either a bulkhead or a transfer.
Penetrations are agreed once
Every structural penetration is scheduled, dimensioned and issued to the structural engineer as a coordinated package, not marked up on site. Late penetration requests are among the most common causes of programme loss on a services package.
Authority approvals are tracked as programme items
Sydney Water and equivalent authority approvals have real lead times that are frequently discovered rather than planned. We start the servicing enquiry at concept and report approval status against the programme.

Yes. Servicing enquiries, Section 73 coordination and water servicing coordinator liaison are part of the hydraulic scope rather than a client responsibility handed back at documentation.
Shared storage is assessed jointly with the fire protection design. Where a combined tank is viable it usually reduces both plant footprint and capital cost, but it has to be resolved at concept because it drives the tank room size.
